Q: How do I create a group?
A: To create a group:
- Open the app and tap "Create Group"
- Enter a group name
- Add participants by entering their mobile numbers
- Tap "Create" - your group will be active for 24 hours
Q: How long do groups last?
A: All groups automatically expire and are permanently deleted 24 hours after creation. All messages within the group are also deleted when the group expires.
Q: Can I add people to a group after it's created?
A: No, you can only add participants during group creation. Once the group is created, no new members can be added. This is by design to maintain privacy and security.
Q: Are my messages really anonymous?
A: Yes! Each user is assigned a random alias (like "Ghost_123") within each group. Your real identity and phone number are never revealed to other group members.
Q: Can I recover deleted messages?
A: No. Once a group expires after 24 hours, all messages are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. Ghost App does not keep backups of expired conversations.
Q: Why am I not receiving push notifications?
A: Check these settings:
- Ensure notifications are enabled in your device settings for Ghost App
- Make sure you're logged in to the app
- Verify you have an internet connection
- Try logging out and back in to refresh your notification token
Q: How do I delete my account?
A: You can delete your account directly within the app:
- Go to Settings in the app
- Scroll to "Account Management"
- Tap "Delete Account"
- Confirm your decision
Your account and all associated data will be permanently deleted immediately. This action cannot be undone.
Q: Is Ghost App free?
A: Yes! Ghost App is completely free to use with no hidden charges or in-app purchases.
Q: What data does Ghost App collect?
A: We collect minimal data: only your mobile number for authentication and temporary messages that are deleted after 24 hours. Read our
Privacy Policy for full details.
Q: Can I use Ghost App on multiple devices?
A: You can log in on multiple devices, but only the most recently logged-in device will receive push notifications. Your groups and messages will sync across devices.
Q: What happens if I report a user?
A: When you report a user for violating our Terms of Service, our team reviews the report. If confirmed, we may suspend or permanently ban the offending account. Reports are taken seriously and handled confidentially.
Q: Why can't I see who's in my group?
A: You can see the number of participants and their anonymous aliases, but not their real identities or phone numbers. This preserves the anonymous nature of the app.
Technical Issues
Q: The app is not loading / crashing
A: Try these troubleshooting steps:
- Force close the app and reopen it
- Check your internet connection
- Update to the latest version of the app
- Restart your device
- Uninstall and reinstall the app (you can log back in with your phone number)
If the issue persists, contact support with details about your device and the error.
Q: Messages are not sending
A: Ensure you have a stable internet connection. If messages still don't send, try:
- Checking if the group has expired (after 24 hours)
- Restarting the app
- Verifying you're still a member of the group

Report Abuse: If you encounter harassment, illegal content, or violations of our Terms of Service, please report it immediately.
Q: How do I report inappropriate content or behavior?
A: You can report content directly within the app:
- Long-press the message or user you want to report
- Tap "Report"
- Select the reason (spam, harassment, illegal content, etc.)
- Add additional details if needed
- Submit the report
Our moderation team reviews all reports within 24 hours and takes appropriate action. For urgent safety concerns, you can also email
support@ghostapp.ai.
Q: How do I block a user?
A: To block a user:
- Tap on the user's message in a group
- Select "Block User"
- Confirm the action
Once blocked, you will no longer see messages from that user in any groups. You can manage blocked users in Settings > Privacy > Blocked Users.
